DUPHALAC SYRUP - 200 ML

 
 
Duphalac is product in liquid form that can be used by children and adults. It is a drug with a laxative effect, which contains lactulose.
 
Product description
Duphalac is used to treat constipation and hepatic encephalopathy a liver disease causing confusion and tremor. It is based in lactulose that has laxative effect. Lactulose helps absorb water in the intestine and increases peristalsis. Duphalac also contains lactose, galactose and fructose that help soften feces and makes easier to pass.
Instructions for use
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, it is recommended to take:

In Constipation:
  • Adults and adolescents: 15-45 ml sirup daily, after this the dose can be adjusted to 15-30ml,
  • Children 7 to 14 years: 15 ml daily after this the dose can be adjusted to 10-15ml,
  • Children 1-6 years: 5-10 ml daily,
  • Infants under 1 year: 5 ml daily.
In Hepatic encephalopathy:
  • Adults: The usual starting dose is 3 to 4 times a day of 30-45 ml.
 
Warning
Do not take Duphalac if you suffer from:
  •  galactose or fructose intolerance
  •  total lactase deficiency
  •  glucose-galactose malabsorption
Precaution:
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Duphalac if you suffer from any medical conditions or illnesses, in particular:
  •  if you suffer from unexplained tummy ache
  •  if you are lactose intolerant
  •  if you have diabetes
  •  if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
Other information
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use Duphalac after the expiry date which is stated on the bottle. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Store at temperatures below 25°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
