MAALOX - 40 TABLETA TË PËRTYPSHME

 
 
Maalox chewable tables with lemon flavour are used for neautralizing acidity of esophagus, gastric and duodenal area. It relieves heartburn and pain caused by acidity in the upper gastrointestinal tract. It is recommended to be used in adults and adolescents from 15 years of age.
 
Product description
Maalox contains magnesium and aluminum hydroxide, which has a powerful ability to neutralize acids and has a protective effect on the esophagus, gastric and duodenal mucosa. Maalox is used for symptomatic treatment of heartburn and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. It reduces pain caused by increased acidity in the upper gastrointestinal tract for several hours.
 
Indications
It is indicated in:
  •  The symptomatic treatment of:
    • Heartburn
    • Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (increased gastric contents in the esophagus).
 
Instructions for use
  • Always read the leaflet or consult with your doctor or pharmacist before taking Maalox.
  • Pass or chew 1-2 tablets to treat heartburn and food reflux. Maximum 6 times a day, but not more than 12 tablets per day. 
  • Do not use for more than 10 consecutive days. If you have the impression that the effect of Maalox is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Warning
DO NOT take Maalox, if:
  • you are allergic to aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
  • you have acute kidney damage.
  • you have lost weight.
  • you have difficulty swallowing or have persistent stomach pain.
  • this is your first episode of a gastrointestinal disease or if its nature has changed recently.
  • you have kidney failure.
Precautions:
Consult with your doctor before taking/using Maalox:
  • If you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
  • If you are pregnant.
Use of magnesium hydroxide may cause hypermagnesemia in young children especially in the kidney damage or dehydration.
Maalox chewable tablets contain sorbitol and maltitol as excipients. If you have been told by your doctor that you have intolerance to some sugars, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
 
Other information
Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool and dry place.
After initial opening, use is suitable for 6 months.
 
Ingredients
The active substances are magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide. 
1 chewable tablet contains 400 mg of magnesium hydroxide and 400 mg of aluminium hydroxide (equals 200 mg of aluminium oxide). 
The other ingredients are: Sorbitol solution (non-crystallised), Maltitol, Glycerol (85%), Sodium saccharin, Lemon flavouring (acacia, lemon flavouring, butylated hydroxyanisole (E320) and purified water), Talc and Magnesium stearate.
