Loperamide is used to treat sudden diarrhea including traveler's diarrhea. It slows down the movement of the gut and makes the stool less watery. It treats the symptoms of the diarrhea, not the cause (infection).

Specification

Product description	Loperamide is an anti-diarrhea drug. It acts by decreasing the number of bowel movements and making the stool less watery. It treats the on-going diarrhea in people with inflammatory bowel disease. It is suitable for use in adults and children over 12 years old.
Indications	It is indicated in: Treating symptoms of diarrhea in adults and children over 12. Treating chronic diarrhea in adults. Reducing the amount of discharge in patients who have undergone an ileostomy.
Instructions for use	Always read the leaflet or consult with your doctor or pharmacist before use. Adults and children over 12 years: Start by taking 2 tablets after each loose stool and continue by taking one tablet. The usual dosage is 3-4 tablets a day. Do not exceed more than 8 tablets a day.
Warning	DO NOT take/use this medicine if: You are allergic to loperamide or any of the components of the drug. You have stomach/abdominal pain without diarrhea You have recently been treated with antibiotics. You have heart problems. You suffer from colic ulcers. Your child is under 6 years of age. You suffer from acute dysentery (blood in stool and fever). Precautions: Consult with your doctor before using this medicine if: Your child is 6 to 12 years of age. You have liver problems. You are pregnant or breastfeeding. You are taking other drugs. It is important to consume liquids. Loperamide can make you feel dizzy so it's important to not drive or use machinery.
Other information	Keep it out of reach of children. Store it below 25ºC. Keep it away from heat and humidity.
