PIC CLASSIC STETHOMED

Pic ClassicStethomed is a kit with aneroid sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope used for monitoring the blood pressure and heart rate. In this model the manometer and inflation ball are two separate items, the former for reading pressure values and the later for regulating the pressure of the arm cuff. The Pic solution sphygmomanometers undergo strict quality control checks in accordance with EU legislation to guarantee the utmost quality and precision.
Instructions for use
  • Place the arm cuff around your right or left arm.
  • Close the arm cuff, inserting the end of it in the metal ring and attaching it to the Velcro so that it is firmly around the arm without being too tight.
  • Insert the head of the stethoscope under the arm cuff so that the membrane is on the internal part of the bicep next to the artery.
  • Keep your arm slightly bent and resting on a surface with the muscles totally relaxed.
  • Check that the deflation valve on the inflation ball is closed, turning it anti-clockwise.
  • Pump the inflation ball until the pressure of the arm cuff is no greater than 20-30 mmHg above the maximum expected pressure.
  • Slightly open the release valve, turning it clockwise and allow the air to slowly seep out so the arm cuff deflates at a speed 2-3 mmHg per second.
  • When the pressure of the arm cuff has gone below the maximum value it is possible to hear the heart beat using the stethoscope. As soon as you hear the first beat make a note of the reading on the manometer: (this is the maximum pressure) systolic.
  • Continue to gradually open the valve until you hear the final beat: the value indicated on the manometer is the “minimum pressure” (diastolic).
  • After recording the blood pressure values completely deflate the arm cuff and if the results of measurements are not clear, repeat the operation waiting for at least 3-4 minutes.
  • After taking the measurements replace the device in the box supplied.
Warning
DO NOT move and do not talk when taking the measurements.
DO NOT cross your legs and keep your feet on the ground.
DO NOT used devices that are not intact or which present problems during the arm cuff inflation phase.
DO NOT apply pressure to the membrane.
It is recommended using a soft, clean cloth for cleaning the device. DO NOT use chemical products.
DO NOT submerge it in liquids in order to clean. DO NOT carry out heat sterilisations.

Precautions:
Relax for 5 minutes before measuring.
Always check that the eartips are attached to the headset before using the stethoscope.
Keep your back against the back of the chair. Take the measurements in a silent room.
Protect the device from heavy knocks.
Avoid damaging rubber parts with sharp or pointed instruments.
