Spring is a season that brings the blossoming of the flowers, the summer season is associated will pollen, the autumn season is related with humidity and consequently mold creating allergies which are related to the respiratory tract and also in the winter related with dust. Allergies or allergic reactions are an expressed response of the immune system to foreign substances called allergens. An allergic reaction occurs when a person’s immune system becomes hypersensitive to certain substances such as foods, medications or insects such as bee venom. These reactions can occur with sneezing, coughing, runny nose, itching. In most cases they are annoying but sometimes they can be dangerous and life threating.

Types of Allergies

Allergy is the condition that is caused due to hypersensitivity of immune system. There are many types of Allergies, some of them are seasonal while others last throughout the year.

There are these types of Allergies:

  1. Respiratory Allergies (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Hay, Pollen, Mold, Dust, Dog, Cat allergies).
  2. Food Allergies (Milk, Casein, Egg, Wheat, Nut, Fish, Shellfish, Sulfite Sensivity, Soy Allergic)
  3. Skin Allergies (Contact Dermatitis, Hives and Angioderma, Allergies to poison, to insects stings, cosmetic allergies, and Nikel allergy)
  4. Other Allergies (Eye allergic, Allergic Conjctivitis {Pink Eye}, Drug allergies, Aspirin, Penicillin allergy).

Does everyone get allergies?

No because most allergies are inherited, which means they are passed on to children by their parents. People inherit a tendency to be allergic, although not to any specific allergen. Today the number of people who have allergies continues to increase across all ages, sex and racial groups.

The best way to prevent allergies is to avoid contact with allergic substances but in case of seasonal allergies, to be protected by pollen is difficult to do and this makes it difficult to avoid contact as this requires staying away from open spaces, keeping windows closed, using air filters

Treatments

Drugs will not cure an allergy, but they can help a person manage the symptoms of a reaction. Before using a medication, you should first consult a doctor or a pharmacist to make an accurate diagnosis and identify the allergen or allergens to which you are sensitive, in order to accurately determine the necessary therapy before starting pollen season in spring. Symptoms can be alleviated by taking the correct and recommended medications by the doctors. As a preventive measure, for the allergic people it can be suggested the marine climate. In this areas the atmospheric concentration of pollen is relatively low.
